Lunglei District and Sessions court judge Marli Vankung convicted Saimawnga, and also imposed a fine of Rs 2,000 on him.
Saimawnga, who was a divorcee, had got the custody of their daughter.
He repeatedly raped his minor daughter in 2013 and she did not confide in anyone due to threats from her father.
The daughter finally informed her mother resulting in the mother filing an FIR at Hnahthial Police Station leading to his arrest.
