Tension grips village as sodomy victim dies

Tension gripped Kakroli village in the district after an alleged sodomy victim succumbed to his injuries.
A 28-year-old labourer was sodomised by two youths on March 6 when he went to a farm. He was also beaten up when he opposed them, police said.
The victim was rushed to hospital in a serious condition and he died yesterday, they said.
Following his death, irate villagers yesterday laid the body of the victim on Jansath Road and protested, demanding strict action against the accused.
A case had been registered against the two accused. One of them has been identified as Zahid.

Both the accused are absconding.
