fallen into a well near here were rescued by fire personnel and locals, officials said.
Forest officials said six wild boars had fallen into a well located in a farmer's land at Eachaparai forest area on Wednesday night. There was very little water in the well and three of the animals sustained injuries and died.
Fire and Rescue Service personnel removed the three carcasses from the well yesterday while launching operations to rescue the other animals which was stopped around 7 PM due to darkness, officials said.
A veterinarian used a tranquiliser gun to sedate the other animals, and fire force personnel stepped into the well to rescue them around 10 am today, they said.
