A tigress has been found dead in the Corbett Tiger Reserve (CTR), officials said today.
The tigress, aged about six years, was found dead by a patrol party near the Karaungiya water body in the Sarpduli range of the tiger reserve yesterday, its director Surendra Mehra said.
Deep wounds were found on the animal during the post-mortem, which suggested that it was killed in a fight with another big cat or wild animal, he said, adding that most of the limbs of the tigress were found intact.
