India batsman Manoj Tiwary today said his knee surgery in London was successful and hoped to recover fully by four to five months.
"I had a ligament tear (in my left knee). The doctors and physio have advised me complete rest for a few weeks. Thereafter, I will have to go to the NCA for rehab," Tiwary, who landed from London today, told reporters here.
"Hopefully, I'll come back to shape by four to five months. I am just keeping my fingers crossed. Hopefully, I will play a role in Bengal's last half of the Ranji season," the regular Bengal skipper added.
Tiwary went to London earlier this month for his surgery by British orthopaedic surgeon and knee specialist Dr Andrew Williams, who had worked with the likes of Andrew Flintoff, Shoaib Akhtar, and more recently Cheteshwar Pujara.
