The Telangana Joint Action Committee (TJAC) today said it would go ahead with the protest proposed to be organised here tomorrow to highlight the unemployment issue though there is no police permission.
Alleging that the police have been clamping down on those planning to participate in the rally, TJAC Chairman M Kodandaram told reporters that they would try to organise the rally as protest is a right.
"We will definitely try to organise protest as we planned to do. We will sit and talk what we can do. Definitely, we will try to hold protest from Indira Park (in the heart of the city). Protest is our right and we will safeguard it," he said.
The TJAC had to withdraw its petition filed in courts seeking permission as the alternative sites for protest proposed by authorities were not conducive to organise the event, he said.
Saying that the TJAC was not hell bent on organising the rally, he found fault with the state government for not initiating any dialogue to address the issue of unemployment.
The TJAC, comprising different outfits, was in the forefront of spearheading separate Telangana agitation.
