"On the orders of Chief Minsiter Puratchi Thalaivi Amma to store food grains free of pest infestation, in the first phase, in 54 godowns, 162 ultra violet light traps would be set up, he said.
The godowns are run by Tamil Nadu Warehousing Corporation and food grains, sugar, dairy products, fertiliser, Indian Made Foreign Liquor, are among the commodities that are stored, he said.
He said the Warehousing Development and Regulatory Authority selected three (Arani, Avinashi and Rajapalayam) warehouses of TN Warehousing Corporation for awards recognising their good performance.
