Torch rally in Imphal demanding ILP

A large number of people brought out a torch rally here tonight demanding implementation of Inner Line Permit (ILP) system in the state.
The rally, which started at around 8PM, is in response to the appeal of Joint Committee on Inner Line Permit System which is spearheading the movement for implementation of ILP.
The Committee is demanding ILP to protect indigenous people from illegal immigration in Manipur from neighbouring Myanmar, Nepal and Bangladesh.
