The TPDDL (Tata Power Delhi Distribution Limited) project has been implemented in Tayabpur village having an estimated 190 hutments with a population of around 1,000, a statement said.
The project is in line with the Centre's electrification program which aims to set up standalone off-grids where Central grid supply has not reached or is not feasible, it said.
A microgrid can function independently with a local source. It is especially beneficial towards establishing a small network of consumers.
TPDDL CEO Praveer Sinha said, "We hope through implementation of the Tayabpur project, we will have a model for installing and developing smart microgrids in the country, thus ensuring access to affordable, reliable and consistent energy for all.
