Traffic restrictions for R-Day parade

Traffic restrictions for Republic Day celebrations and parade at India Gate will be put in place from tomorrow afternoon and will continue till culmination of the event on January 26.
The Republic Day Parade will start at 9.50 AM on January 26 from Vijay Chowk and proceed for Red Fort Grounds, via Rajpath, India Gate, Tilak Marg, Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg, Netaji Subhash Marg. The function at India Gate will begin at 9 AM, said Garima Bhatnagar, Joint Commissioner(Traffic) of Police.
Movement of traffic on certain roads leading to the route of the Parade will be restricted with no traffic allowed on Vijay Chowk to India Gate on Rajpath from 3 PM on January 25 till Parade is over, she said.
No cross traffic will be allowed on Rajpath from 11 PM on January 25, Rafi Marg, Janpath, Man Singh Road till Parade is over. The 'C'-Hexagon-India Gate will be closed for traffic from 2.00 AM on January 26 till parade crosses Tilak Marg.
Traffic on Tilak Marg, will not be allowed from 10 AM on January 26 on both directions. Cross traffic will only be allowed depending on the movement of the Parade.
Cross traffic on the route of the parade at Dr Dinesh Nandini Dalmia Chowk and ITO Chowk, Delhi Gate and beyond will be allowed depending upon the movement of the parade.
Area bounded by T Point South Avenue, Tyag Raj Marg - K Kamraj Marg, Man Singh Road, Akbar Road between Man Singh road and C Hexagon, Dr RP Road, Red Cross Road, Sansad Marg, Imtiaz Khan Road, Rakab Ganj Road, Pt Pant Marg, Church Road upto T-Point Church Road/North Avenue will be prohibited after 11 PM on January 25, the officer said.
Area bounded by Kautilya Marg, Kamal Ataturk Marg, Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Road, 'Q'-point, Humayun Road, Subramania Bharti Marg, Mathura Road, Bhagwan Dass Road, Mandi House, Feroze Shah Road, Tolstay Marg, Sansad Marg, Patel Chowk, Ashoka Road, Baba Kharak Singh Marg, RML Mother Teresa Crescent upto 11 Murti and Sardar Patel Marg upto Kautilya Marg will be restricted areas after 6 AM till end of Parade, except local residents and labeled vehicles of invitees, she said.
Metro rail service shall remain available for commuters at all stations during on Republic Day. However, entry and exit will be closed at Central Secretariat and Udyog Bhawan stations, from 1200 hours till 12.30 hours on January 26. Patel Chowk and Race Course(LKM) stations will be closed for entry exit from 8.45 AM till 12.30 hrs on Republic Day.
North-South traffic will be allowed from Ring Road, Arobindo Chowk and Prithviraj Road. Wast-West Corridor via Ring Road will also be available via different roads.
Traffic from South and East Delhi towards New Delhi railway station will be allowed on Mother Teresa Crescent and Boulevard Road via ISBT overbridge, respectively, she added.
