Transgenders celebrate SC verdict in Salem

About 200 transgenders today celebrated the first anniversary of the Supreme Court judgment recognising them as 'third gender', by cutting a cake and cleaning the Collectorate premises here.
District Transgenders president Pooja said the cleaning operation was taken up as part of the Prime Minister's 'Clean India' campaign.
The Centre should act on the apex court order and announce them as 'third gender', Pooja said.
