A ninth grade student allegedly committed suicide by immolating herself after she failed in her exams in Naubasta locality here today, police said.
The 15-year-old girl had been upset since her results were declared. The incident happened this morning when the girl's parents paid a visit to the school to enquire about her studies, according to police.
The girl set herself ablaze by pouring Kerosene oil after her parents left the house. She was dead by the time neighbours could come to her rescue, they said.
The body has been sent for post-mortem and the girl's parents and neighbours are being interrogated.
