Turmeric, jeera rise on subdued supply

Turmeric and jeera prices rose up to Rs 400 per quintal in the national capital today in view of fall in supplies from producing belts amid increased buying by stockists and exporters.
Besides improved export demand, low stocks and a firming trend in futures market, influenced prices.
Turmeric prices rose by Rs 200 to conclude at Rs 8,600-12,900 per quintal.
Jeera common and best quality also traded higher by Rs 400 each to finish at Rs 15,400-15,900 and Rs 18,600-19,100 per quintal, respectively.
Traders said buying support from stockists and exporters against fall in supplies from producing belts mainly pushed up chilli and jeera prices.

Ajwain (per kg) 135-185, black pepper (per kg) 560-730, betel-nut (kg) 300-350, cardamom brown-Jhundiwali (kg) 1,675-1,690 and cardamom brown-Kanchicut (kg) 1,800-1,925.
Cardamom small (kg): Chitridar 800-860, cardamom (colour robin) 770-800, cardamom bold 780-800, cardamom extra (bold) 950-1,000 and cloves 700-835.
