Two brothers arrested for cheating businessman

Two brothers have been arrested here for allegedly cheating a businessman, police said today.
The accused, identified as Jitendra and Varun, were held yesterday for committing a fraud involving Rs 2.5 crore with the businessman Anand Vijay, Station House Officer (SHO) Shyam Nagar police station Balaram said.
According to police, the accused duo came in contact with the gemstone businessman Vijay during a jewellery show in June last year. They introduced themselves as jewellers having offices abroad including the European countries.
After winning his confidence, the accused procured gem stones worth Rs. 2.5 crore from Vijay in September last year and promised to make payment for the same after some time, the SHO said.
Later, they got disappeared. The businessman tried many times to contact them but failed, officer said adding that the victim then lodged an FIR following which the accused were nabbed.
