A fast track court of additional sessions judge Virender Kumar Goyal held guilty Vijay Kumar alias Monti and Vijay Kumar alias Mannu of kidnapping Anil for ransom, murdering him and destroying evidence.
"The offences committed has caused a huge loss to the family of the deceased (Anil). Due to his murder, his family has also suffered a lot and lost the love and affection along with financial loss.
"Not only this but besides the murder of Anil, ransom of Rs 10 lakh was demanded from the father of deceased," the court said, adding the case does not fall within the ambit of rarest of rare category.
The court acquitted three other accused Azim Mian, Nayed and Chander Kant Pathak of all the charges saying the prosecution was not able to prove offences against them.
According to the prosecution, Anil's body was found in Ghaziabad near railway tracks on October 21, 2006 by a local and police was informed about it. The body was identified by the victim's brother.
As the case of kidnapping was registered by the victim's family in Delhi, the body was also handed over to Delhi Police. During investigation, accused Monti was arrested and at his instance, the other four accused were also caught.
He said in the morning, Anil had called him that he was a Madhuban Chowk bus stand in northwest Delhi and would be reaching home in the afternoon.
On the next day, he received a call from the kidnappers that his son would be released only after getting Rs 10 lakh.
The accused had again called victim's father asking him to deliver Rs 10 lakh cash at a place in North East Delhi but when Singh insisted that he would bring the money only after talking to Anil, they disconnected the call, Singh said.
