Representatives of the two groups led by Puspendra and Shiv Dayal, clashed with each other yesterday, police said.
After Puspendra lost the elections for the post of village Pradhan, there were heated arguments between his supporters and his political adversary Shiv Dayal's cousin Ajaypal.
The argument led to a violent clash between the two factions with each side resorting to assault by lathi blows, firing and brick bating, they said.
During the incident, Ajaypal and another person Kaptan Singh from Puspendra's group were injured, police said.
