Two men axed to death by two nephews over land dispute

Two men were today allegedly hacked to death by their nephews at Narsakkapet village in Rajamna Sircilla district, police said.
After the alleged murder, the accused surrendered before police.
The victims were identified as Konkati Lingaiah (55) and Kanakaiah (50), Illanthakunta Sub Inspector S Laxma Reddy said.
The accused Konkati Anil (32) and Konkati Arun (28), are the nephews of the deceased, he said.
"The accused were locked in a land dispute with their paternal uncles since the past several years. Following an altercation today, the accused hacked their uncles to death with an axe on the latter's farm. The incident took place around 1.30 pm," the inspector said.

The duo also attacked Kanakaiah's wife Bharatamma (45) with knives and tried to kill her, the officer added.

"She was immediately shifted to the district head quarters hospital at Karimnagar. Her condition is now stable," Reddy said.
The bodies were taken to Sircilla Government hospital for the post mortem.
"Both the accused surrendered before the police," he added.
Further investigation is on.
