Two more arrested in Rs 3,500-cr heroin haul off Guj coast

The Narcotics Control Bureau today arrested two more persons in connection with the Rs 3,500 crore heroin haul from merchant ship MV Henry off the Gujarat coast on July 30.
With this, the number of persons arrested in the case has reached thirteen, NCB zonal director Hari Om Gandhi said.
Two men, Saud and Suleiman, were picked up from Mumbai yesterday, he said. The duo were brought here for questioning and arrested after their role in buying the drug for distribution was established.
Investigators were now focusing on suppliers and receivers of the contraband in the international market, Gandhi said.

Earlier, the NCB had arrested eleven persons, including the eight crew members of MV Henry.
The ship was intercepted by the Indian Coast Guard on July 30. The coast guard had termed it "biggest catch of narcotics in the present times".
