Acting on a tip off, the sleuths apprehended one Farooq Ahmed Reshi, who was carrying a box, upon his arrival at the domestic terminal on Saturday night, he said.
"Upon checking the box, we found 10 kg of charas (hashish) rolled into balls and concealed in the box. Along with Reshi, a resident of Jammu and Kashmir, we have also apprehended one Shakeel Qureshi, who came at the airport to receive the contraband, said zonal director of Ahmedabad-NCB Hari Om Gandhi.
"We have also seized Rs two lakh cash from Qureshi, a native of Nagpada in Mumbai and currently resides here. They were arrested under various sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985," said Gandhi.
As per primary investigation Reshi's brother was recently arrested in Mumbai in a narcotics case while Qureshi is a "wanted" by Mumbai NCB in another case, said Gandhi.
