The chief minister also announced construction of a gurudwara in Haridwar and said that District Magistrate has been asked to identify a suitable piece of land in the holy city for the Gyan Godadi gurudwara.
Making the twin announcements on the occasion of Guru Nanak Jayanti, Rawat said opinions of distinguished members of the Punjabi community are being taken on establishing the Punjabi Academy.
Rawat who paid obeisance at gurudwaras located in Race Course and Prem Nagar areas of the city to mark the occasion, said that Guru Nanak Dev travelled worldwide to spread the message of love and brotherhood by establishing dialogue with different communities.
