The accused, who was brought here on a transit remand from Bhopal late Monday night and remanded to eight-day police custody yesterday, told the police sleuths that he had hardly any "real friend" in his life and that several of his friends were 'virtual'.
The team of four officers, including Bankura SP Sukhendu Hira, which is conducting the grilling since last evening, also found out that Udayan had set up hundreds of email accounts under different names and also opened many accounts in the social networking sites.
"He (Udayan) seems to be a very sly person. He is trying to misdirect us... Initially, we thought he was cooperating with us but then we found him giving replies which are absolutely irrelevant to our questions case," the officer said.
Speaking in broken Bengali, Udayan admitted to killing Akanksha sometime last year and entombing her body in his house in Bhopal to hide the crime.

The Bankura police also interrogated Akanksha's parents in connection with their daughter's alleged murder.

The incident came to light when state police officers went to Bhopal to find out the whereabouts of Akanksha following a complaint lodged by her father Shivendra Sharma.
After his arrest by the Bhopal Police, Udayan subsequently admitted to killing both of his parents and based on his confessions, the police unearthed the skeletons from his Raipur home.
