"Bharti will be visiting Garhmukteshwar on 4th and 5th January to inspect the progress of Namami Gange programme there," the Ministry said in a statement.
Garhmukteshwar is one of the 10 cities where the surface cleaning work will be undertaken as part of the ambitious project from this month.
Haridwar, Kanpur, Allahabad, Varanasi, Patna, Sahibganj, Kolkata, Nabadwip and Gangasagar are the other cities where the entry-level activities will be undertaken.
Besides surface cleaning, the entry-level activities include works like repair or modernisation of ghats and crematoria along the Ganga river and setting up of sewage treatment plants.
