A 35-year-old undertrial prisoner died today under suspicious circumstance in Sewada jail of the district in Madhya Pradesh.
Bhura Lodhi, facing trial in a murder case, was found lying unconscious in a jail toilet in the morning, said Jailor Shivpal Paradhia.
"Lodhi went to the toilet this morning but did not return for a prayer session, following which a search was launched. We found him lying unconscious in the toilet," he said.
Lodhi was then rushed to a health centre where doctors declared him dead, he said.
His body has been sent for postmortem, the jailor said, adding an inquiry is on.
