Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat today set a one-year deadline to complete a tunnel on the Dehradun-Saharanpur highway.
He also asked the executing agency to decorate its interiors with motifs, which showcase the state's culture.
"The interior of the tunnel should be painted with motifs. These will give a glimpse of Uttarakhand's culture to commuters," he said at a meeting to review the progress of the project.
The tunnel is located near the Daat Kali temple on the outskirts of the state capital.
Rawat also reviewed the progress of the ISBT flyover at Ajabpur and another at Mohkampur.
He asked the executing agencies to complete both the projects before the state's foundation day in October.
The chief minister said that negligence in quality of work will not be tolerated.
