Union Mines Minister and senior Congress leader Dinsha Patel met Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi today in Gandhinagar.
It was not known what transpired in the meeting, but official sources said it was a courtesy call.
Patel had contested elections against Modi in Maninagar constituency in 2007 and lost. He is considered to be a strong leader of his community in Central Gujarat.
As a Lok Sabha MP from Kheda Lok Sabha constituency, he was elevated from minister of state with independent charge, to a cabinet minister during the last ministerial reshuffle by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.
