"Power generation has touched 715 MW after generation resumed last month following a technical snag and will touch 1000 MW in the next two days. The second unit will also generate power in May," R S Sundar, the plant director, said.
Work on the third and fourth units were going on in full swing, he said.
Power generation at the plant had been stopped on February 16 due to a leakage in a steam pipe. It had resumed on January 30 after seven months of shutdown for maintenance, but was suspended on February 5 due to steam leak and was again started.
Earlier on June 24, 2015 the first plant at KNPP, an Indo- Russian collaborative venture, was shut down for maintenance after being in commercial operation since December 31, 2014.
