Thirty-year-old Shaun Lee, from South Carolina, who was trapped in his vehicle for hours prayed, yelled for help and honked while he waited for rescuers after his car went off a rural road last week.
During his ordeal, Lee was drifting in and out of sleep as he imagined he was "dead, dying or pinned or all three," Lee said at the Missoula hospital, where he was taken after the tragic accident, 'New York Daily News' reported.
Rescuers were called to separate him from the crushed vehicle and carry him up the embankment, before taking him to hospital.
Lee was reportedly looking for a motel when he took a wrong turn before he ended up sliding down a muddy road.
"Emergency brake on, got the foot brake on. It's going faster and faster. Next thing I know she flipped upside-down and boom," Lee said.
The crash left Lee with a broken neck and a contusion on his spine, along with other minor injuries.
