"Just saw #SanAndreas in 3d. @TheRock gives his best and owns the film. If people aren't already scared of earthquakes you need to watch this film," the "Badlapur" star tweeted.
To which Johnson, 43, replied, "Appreciate that my friend. #SanAndreas is playing very strong in INDIA. Keep up the great work."
There have been several occasions when Varun and the wrestling star have appreciated each other's work. On the special request of Varun's fans, Johnson took to Twitter to wish him on his birthday.
