Veteran Cong leader cremated

The mortal remains of veteran freedom fighter and senior Congress leader Sarla Sharma were consigned to flames at Chamunda in Kangra district with full state honours today.
Sharma, 91, died at Yol camp near Dharamsala yesterday.
Several politicians, bureaucrats and local residents attended the funeral.
Sharma was elected to Punjab Assembly twice in 1957 and 1962 and to Himachal Pradesh Assembly in 1972. She was minister of state from 1972 to 1977 and also remained HPCC chief from 1979 to 1983.
