Veteran journalist T V R Shenoy passed away at a hospital in Manipal tonight, where he was admitted following multiple health problems.
He was 77 and is survived by his wife and two children, family sources said.
A Padma Bhushan awardee, Shenoy was an eminent columnist who contributed to several national and international media houses. He used to write on topics like national politics, economy, social issues and international affairs.
He began his journalistic career with The Indian Express and later became the editor of The Sunday Mail.
He worked as editor of the Malayala Manorama publication, 'The Week' and also served as the Delhi bureau chief of the Malayala Manorama for a long time.
His body would be taken to Delhi tomorrow and the funeral details would be finalised later, family sources said.
Shenoy is a native of Cherayi in Ernakulam.
