Vice-principal held for sharing objectionable message on phone

The vice-principal of a private school here has been arrested for allegedly circulating objectionable content related to a particular community on a mobile messaging app, police said today.
According to police, Anurag Bhushan was arrested yesterday after locals held protest in Nawabganj area alleging that he had attempted to disturb peace by circulating an objectionable message on the community on the Whatsapp on May 11.
People of a particular community staged demonstration and gheraoed police station to protest against the act. They also pressurised police to take action against the accused, police said.
The accused was arrested yesterday and sent to jail today, they said.
Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Rajneesh Rai said that the school administration has also suspended Bhushan.
