The incident took place last night when the deceased identified as Lakshman Prasad was returning home and was attacked by some unidentified persons with sharp edged weapons, they said.
His body was found this morning by villagers, who informed the police.
An FIR has been registered in the matter. No arrests have so far been made in this connection, said police.
