Warm weather prevails in Punjab, Haryana

Warm weather prevailed in Punjab and Haryana as mercury rose above the normal levels in most places in the region.
Hisar in Haryana was the hottest place in the region with a maximum of 38 degrees Celsius, three degrees above normal, a MeT report said.
Bhiwani recorded a high of 37.2 degrees Celsius while at Ambala and Narnaul it settled at 33.6 and 36 degrees Celsius, rising by up to two notches above normal.
Union Territory Chandigarh registered 34 degrees Celsius, a notch above normal, the Met report said.
In neighbouring Punjab, maximum temperatures of Amritsar and Ludhiana were recorded at 34.4 degrees Celsius and 33.5 degrees Celsius respectively while Patiala's high settled at 34.8 degrees Celsius, two degrees above normal.
MeT department predicted light rain or thundershowers at isolated places in Punjab and dry weather in in Haryana in the next 24 hours.
