Actor-singer Ayushmann Khurrana is glad that he is getting to work with Parineeti Chopra in their next film "Meri Pyaari Bindu" and says he was amazed when he first heard her sing.
The 27-year-old actress will be seen in "Meri Pyaari Bindu" as an aspiring singer. In real life, Parineeti like her sister Priyanka Chopra, is a singer but has not tried it professionally.
"She (Parineeti) is a singer as well. This is the first time I am working with someone who is an actor and a singer. When I met her in 2012 during IIFA awards she was humming a song. I seemed bit surprised but she was cool about it," Ayushmann told PTI.
"She always wanted to sing and I am glad she will sing in the film. I don't know if I will get to sing for the film or not (as a singer)," he added.
The film "Meri Pyaari Bindu" produced by Yash Raj Films and Maneesh Sharma will mark her singing debut.
"She (Parineeti) is playing a singer in the film. I am a singer in real life. I am not a singer in the film. I am playing something different," Ayushmann said.
Considering the "Vicky Donor" actor is a singer in real life and has quite a few songs to his credits like "Paani Da", "Saadi Galli Aaja" and others, he doesn't feel that Parineeti requires any tips from him as far as singing is concerned.
"She is a good singer in real life. Let her record the song then we will see (about the singing tips)," he added.
The film will be directed by debutant Akshay Roy.
