WB govt constitutes Mukutmanipur Development Authority

Eyeing to promote tourism as well as for a comprehensive development of Mukutmanipur in Bankura district, the West Bengal government has constituted the Mukutmanipur Development Authority.
The Urban Development and Municipal Affairs Department notified Mukutmanipur Development Authority this January and constituted first Board of Development Authority by District Magistrate, Bankura as the chairperson, MLA of Ranibandh AC as the vice-chairperson and the eleven other members, a release issued by the Information and Cultural Affairs Department said today.
Incidentally, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee during her last district review meeting in Mukutmanipur in December had announced creating Mukutmanipur Development Authority for comprehensive planning and development of Mukutmanipur and adjoining areas under Khatra sub-division of Bankura.
At the initial stage, to promote tourism as well as for creation of scope for self-employment, a number of schemes have been taken up like beautification work around the dam area, it said.
The planning area covers Mukutmanipur Dam, Pareshnath temple, Musafirania, a hillock beside, the dam and Banpukhuria Deer Park.
