"It seems the BJP and the Gorkha Janmukti Morcha are making another attempt to separate Darjeeling from Bengal. We want to make it clear that all possible effort would be put up by our government as well as our party to resist any attempt to divide the state," Deb said in Siliguri.
"The BJP is hatching a conspiracy to foment trouble across Bengal. That is why it is inciting the Morcha to raise the demand for Gorkhaland again.
GJM president and Gorkhaland Territorial Administration (GTA) Chief Executive Bimal Gurung had written in his Facebook post on Monday "I am happy to inform to all our supporters that Rajnath Singh, Hon'ble Home Minister has agreed to set up a committee to examine our century old demand of Gorkhaland.
