"Today the buzz in the summit was Bengal was taking off and everybody wanted to ride the growth," he said welcoming the industry captains who expressed the desire to invest in Bengal.
Mitra, who was talking about the issue of land acquisition raised by Union Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari for the expansion of national highways, said he has been very positive about various developmental projects in Bengal.
He also hailed the investment proposed by a private company in setting up a warehouse for farmers in Singur using solar power.
Asked whether the government was satisfied with the promises made by the union ministers in supporting West Bengal, Mitra said, "We had discussions where we have pointed out despite the debt trap we are are moving forward and we have placed the figures of change. These are not accusations. It is a part of federalism, where we have exchanged ideas.
