In the wake of the arrest of rape case convict Bitti Mohanty from Kerala, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot said today that no stones will be left unturned in tracing absconders like former DIG Madhukar Tandon.
"We were putting pressure for a long time and discussed it in meetings many times. Some other persons like a former DIG are still absconding and we will continue to review the situation. He (Bitti) was arrested and others will also be held," Gehlot told reporters here.
"The law will take its own course. The government will leave no stones unturned in tracing absconders," he said.
Mohanty, son of former Odisha Director General of Police B B Mohanty, was arrested by the Kerala Police on Friday night.
He was convicted for raping a German girl and was serving sentence in Jaipur. However, he went absconding in 2006 after jumping parole.
Tandon had allegedly kidnapped and raped a scheduled caste woman of Dausa district at his residence in Noida on January 21, 1997.
Even after 16 years, Tandon is still untraceable.
