Will meet Governor on pending irrigation projects: Mungantiwar

Maharashtra government will consult state Governor Ch Vidyasagar Rao on the budgetary allocations for speedy completion of 404 irrigation projects, Finance Minister Sudhir Mungantiwar said here today.
"Our agricultural growth is in negative for the last few years. The total employment in agriculture sector is 52 per cent. Agriculture sector accounts for 11.3 per cent of the total GSDP," Mungantiwar said.
Need of the hour is to complete the pending 404 irrigation projects, he said.
"Since Governor has monitoring powers for equitable disbursement of funds, the government plans to hold a meeting with him," the minister added.
