Nigerian national arrested for lottery scam

Andhra Pradesh CID has arrested a Nigerian national for allegedly cheating a man through 'lottery' scam.
The CID was probing a complaint filed by K Venkateswara Reddy, resident of Kurnool town, who said that Rs 1,79,500 were withdrawn from his bank account in an online scam.
The investigators tracked down the accused Ebagua Michel alias Jef Morgan in Gurgaon and arrested him on June 25.
CID officials said that Morgan confessed to the offence.
He told police that he sent bulk text messages which said that recipient had won a lottery or some award, etc and demanded details of bank account and 'processing fee' before the prize money could be paid.
Reddy had fallen prey to one such SMS, he said, adding, further probe is underway.
