The Aam Aadmi Party today alleged that Punjab Minister Bikram Singh Majithia is running the drug trade in the state, and reiterated its stand to send him to jail if elected to power in the upcoming Assembly polls.
AAP state convener Gurpreet Singh Ghuggi and legal cell head Himmat Singh Shergill claimed that everybody knows that Majithia is responsible for ruining an entire generation of Punjab by pushing them to drugs.
People of Punjab are waiting to punish Majithia and the Badal family for the same in 2017, Ghuggi said.
Shergill said, "no matter who contests against you, you are bound to lose in the upcoming elections".
"For Majithia, jail is the right place, not Assembly. We'll make sure he finds himself in the right place after elections," he said.
Criticising Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal for launching the amphibious bus, Ghuggi said, "at a time when entire Punjab is suffering due to 10 years of organized loot and misrule of Badals. It's a cruel joke on the people of Punjab who are facing extreme hardship due to demonetisation. It shows Badals have completely lost touch with the people of Punjab and their problems".
Commenting on the Badals demand that Chandigarh should go to Punjab, he said that the state government has not raised a single issue in the interest of Punjab and the Punjabis.
Now at the end of their misrule, they have raised this issue to misguide the people of state, Ghuggi said.
