"We have launched a programme to train around 10,000 employees in digital technologies during the year. As Wipro Digital gains traction, it will drive greater impact through re-shaping the form and scale of our customer engagement," Wipro CEO TK Kurien told reporters here.
He added that the company's digital business has shown strong traction with seven deal wins in the July-September 2015 quarter.
"While our digital business offers clients a differentiated service, we expect the downstream business multiplier to be in the range of 5-10X, leveraging the traditional technologies as well as SMAC, based on the stage at which we get engaged," he said.
"We are driving targeted training programmes around imparting next-generation technologies and building a mindset around continuous learning, collaboration and innovation," he said.
During the reported quarter, Wipro's IT services segment added 6,607 people taking the total headcount to 168,396 employees as of September 30, 2015.
Asked about future hiring, Wipro Senior Vice President Human Resources Saurabh Govil said the company has hired large number of freshers in this quarter and that hiring continues to be in line with business requirement.
"We are building in digital where we see a huge demand and growth coming very clearly investing in that. Overseas, we continue to hire... We have already been on campuses so that process is going on. So its business as usual, nothing different what has been in the past...You will see the same, similar rate of hiring," he said.
