The University of Wolverhampton, one of the much-sought-after education campuses in UK, is interested in attracting more students from India and Asia, its Chancellor Lord Swraj Paul has said.
Delivering the Chancellor's Graduation Dinner Speech at the University, Lord Paul said, "Our ties with this area of the world are strong. It is important to emphasise the importance of international students and how we can work even more closely with businesses in this part of the world."
"We can help provide opportunities to develop a skilled workforce for years to come in these countries," he said.
Recalling his visit to a school in India this year, he said, "there, we were able to fund the education of a group of students through scholarships, giving them the opportunity to improve their lives."
He said the year saw a 6 million pound investment in research, highlighting the University's commitment to research excellence.
"We have an aim to ensure that our graduates leave us as truly global citizens.
"We are proud to have an international network of partners and students from over 150 nationalities and we deliver our courses in 11 countries," Paul earlier said at the Graduation Ceremony at the School of Applied Sciences of the University.
