The woman was found in an unconscious state at Mall Road under Sadar Bazaar police station area last night and three sulphas tablets were recovered near her, Sadar Bazaar police station incharge Gajendrapal Singh said.
She was spotted by Uttar Pradesh minister Mohammad Abbas who took her, in his car, to a private hospital. However, the hospital refused to admit her and referred her to another hospital.
The other private hospital also refused her admission and referred her to the district's government hospital but she was declared brought dead there, Singh said.
Initial investigation has revealed that the woman was keeping upset due to some reasons since a few days, Singh said, adding, she might have committed suicide by consuming the tablets but the police is probing other angles as well.
Meanwhile, relatives and locals expressed anger at the alleged refusal of the two private hospitals to admit her.
State BJP trade chamber organiser Vineet Aggrawal Sharda said whether she consumed poison on her own or at the behest of someone else is a matter of probe but the way the two hospitals refused her admission for about two hours, is against principles of humanity and medicine.
