Harassed by her in-laws, a 25-year-old woman allegedly immolated herself in Nauhard Husainpur village of the district, police said today.
Rekha Singh was apparently upset as her in-laws used to taunt her over not having a child and took the extreme step yesterday, her family said in a police complaint.
According to police, Rekha poured kerosene and set herself ablaze in her house in Kandhai police station area. She was rushed to the district hospital where she died, police said.
Rekha got married about five years ago, police said.
The body has been sent for post-mortem and further investigations are on, police added.
