: A woman was killed and over 30 people were injured when the parapet wall of a building collapsed, minutes ahead of YSR Congress president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy's election rally at Mandapeta town in East Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh on Wednesday.
Police said more than 20 persons were standing on the wall atop the municipal complex when it collapsed under pressure.
Besides those on the wall, several people standing on the road below it also suffered injuries.
A couple of journalists were among those injured in the incident.
One of those injured P Ramulamma subsequently succumbed to the injuries, the police said.
The injured have been shifted to the local hospital in Mandapeta for treatment.
Jagan, who later arrived in the town for campaigning, visited the hospital and consoled the victims.
