The woman, Kavita, a mother of three, appeared to be deprived of food. Her family alleged that they were not allowed to meet her for the past three months.
Her mother had gone to her house three months ago, but her husband Deepak allegedly did not allow her to meet.
Kavita's mother yesterday telephoned a neighbour to enquire about her. The neighbour, the family claimed, told them that they had not seen her for the past two-three months.
Following this, her family today came to her residence and called police. Police then took the woman, a patient of tuberculosis, to a hospital where she is undergoing treatment.
No case was registered till late evening.
Police said the woman's husband claimed that he was giving her medicines and used to take her to hospital too.
He handed over to police medicine bills.
A senior police official said they were questioning why he had locked her up.
