Woman's nose chopped off by unidentified person

An unidentified person allegedly chopped off a woman's nose and also tried to strangle her while she was sleeping with her 3-year-old son at her home in outer Delhi's Mangolpuri area, police said.
The incident occurred last night when the accused who was dressed only "in undergarments", sneaked inside the room located on the third floor in Mangolpuri's K-Block, they said.
After she raised an alarm, neighbours gathered and rushed her to Sanjay Gandhi Memorial Hospital from where she was referred to the Safdarjung Hospital for surgery on her mutilated nose.
Her husband who works as a driver was not present when the incident occurred.

A case of attempt to murder has been registered at Mangolpuri Police Station. The accused is still at large and motive behind the assault is yet to be ascertained.
