Pointing towards "tactics of BJP", Himachal Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh today decried the attempts to indulge in false propaganda to demean the opponents and said that witch-hunting has no place in politics.
"False cases were instituted against me by the previous BJP governments headed by P K Dhumal twice and both the times I was exonerated by the courts and I am not bothered about the tactics of the BJP", he said while addressing a public meeting at Parsa in Rohroo area of Shimla district.
"My government was elected through democratic process and enjoys the love and support of the people and is not at the mercy of the BJP", he said, adding that the dismissal of CD case against him by the Supreme Court recently had unnerved the BJP which is indulging in falsehood and witch-hunting.
Singh said that he believed in going to door of the people to understand their problems and grievances and gets a chance to monitor the progress of developmental schemes.
He said that Rohru and its suburbs were well connected with roads and now the focus is on metalling the kachha roads.
Earlier, flagging off the Disaster Awareness Rally from Ridge in Shimla, Singh said that the state government was contemplating setting to set up State Disaster.
The state government has written to the Centre Government regarding setting up of this force keeping in view the disaster-prone topography and the people should be made aware snout disasters and trained to unitedly mitigate its after effects.
