'Work for taking Jammu university to pinnacles of excellence'

Calling upon the academicians to work hard for taking University of Jammu to the pinnacles of excellence, Union Minister Jitendra Singh today said that faculty and research are the two crucial components of achieving it.
"Challenges have increased manifold, especially in the wake of the outreach of the campuses across the Jammu region", Singh said while addressing the high level meeting of the Deans, Directors, Heads of various departments andCampuses and Officersof the Jammu University here today.
Singh said that the academicians had a challenging role in maintaining pace with fast changing academic advancements and also to satiate the needs of the student community.

"We must not overlook or undermine the fact that the growth of the present generation of students is faster than what used to be earlier and therefore the challenges for the academicians are many more," the Minister of State in the PMO said.
Appreciating the academic odyssey of the varsity, Singh stressed on the need for making it more vibrant and student friendly so that its scholars are placed in good stead to face the competitive world with much more confidence.
